Privacy Policy

This policy explains what HelpFoundry, operated by BS Ideas LLC, collects when you use the service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. You can reach us any time at bens@bs-ideas.com.

• Account details: your email address and name, provided at sign-up or through Google sign-in.
• Knowledge content: the files you upload (PDFs, Word documents, text, images), websites you add, GitHub repositories you connect, and FAQs you write.
• Conversations: the questions and answers from your own chats and from visitors who use the chat widget installed on your website.
• Billing status: your subscription plan and payment status, managed through Stripe. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
• Technical logs: basic records such as browser type and pages requested, used for reliability and security.

We use this information to run and secure the service, generate answers from your knowledge, maintain your account and subscription, support you when you contact us, and enforce our Terms of Use. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

To answer a question, HelpFoundry sends the question together with the most relevant excerpts from your knowledge to an AI model, and returns the generated answer. Your content is used only to serve your assistant — it is not used to train third-party AI models.

HelpFoundry runs on managed hosting with encryption in transit and access controls in place. Access rules make sure each account can only reach its own knowledge, conversations and settings.

We share information only with the providers needed to operate the service: our hosting and database provider, the AI provider that generates answers, Stripe for payments, and email delivery for account emails. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

We keep your information while your account is active. Removing a knowledge source or deleting a conversation removes that content. Deleting your account removes the content associated with it. We may retain the minimal records we are legally required to keep.

HelpFoundry uses browser storage only to keep you signed in and to remember in-app preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

You can access, correct, export or delete your information at any time from your account, or by emailing bens@bs-ideas.com. If you are a visitor to a website that uses a HelpFoundry widget, your chat transcript is held by that website's HelpFoundry account owner — you can ask the website owner to remove it, or contact us and we will help.

HelpFoundry is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date at the top.
